We all know that regular service of our cars increases their longevity and will help us to enjoy and use them for longer. So too does regular servicing your pond and pond equipment prolong the life of your pond system and everything in it: a healthy pond with well functioning pumps and filters create an environment where fish and plants can thrive and buzzes with life.
While each pond is different, it is our experience that most ponds do well with a service every 6 months, thereby keeping the whole ecosystem in check.

Arne’s Trip to Europe
While we have been able to call New Zealand home for the last 20 years, we keep close ties with our country of origin: Belgium. So while winter was well and truly settling in here in New Zealand, I was able to enjoy the July summer in Belgium. While it was mainly a family trip, I couldn’t help myself taking pictures of pretty much every water feature and pond I encountered. It was quite striking to me that most cities have water features, some hundreds of years old and most city centres have a fountain of some sort in the town square. Thinking about how most European cities evolved, it is quite natural that those locations were one of the few access points to fresh water throughout the ages…
I came away with plenty of inspiration and new ideas.
